Hannah Oshier enlisted in the Navy when she was 17, as an electrician on nuclear reactor systems. School and training were completed at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command and Nuclear Power Training Unit, a technical school in shipboard nuclear power plant operations and maintenance for US Navy, Knolls Atomic Power Lab and Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory personnel. After that, she transferred to Washington state to work on board the USS Abraham Lincoln. During this time, she completed her bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Excelsior College (2013). After getting out of the Navy, she continued her education in the Space Studies master’s program at the University of North Dakota. Someday, she hopes to work for NASA or a private space company in the astrodynamics field, focusing in interstellar propulsion and energy production methods. Hannah spends most of her time shuttling her kids around (ages 4,3 &1) to swimming lessons, gymnastics, and school, while simultaneously running a small farm of 15 acres consisting of rabbits, chickens and pigs. Occasionally, when she is able to have spare time, she watches movies, sews, woodworks, crochets, bakes and play instruments.
